    Dina Tush of Great Kills is composing a victim impact statement as sources today told the Advance a grand jury is set to hear evidence this week against Jessica Tush's alleged killer, Tottenville resident Thomas Paolino. About 50 friends and relatives are writing similar letters to the Office of Victim Witness Advocacy in the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

    Last month, two other South Shore homes were hit within days of each other. An unfinished home on Rathbun Avenue, Prince's Bay, had its copper piping completely ripped out and a new house on Wood Lane in Tottenville was hit shortly thereafter. In addition, on June 17, two men broke into a first-floor Mariners Harbor apartment and stripped it of copper and metal siding; they were later caught with shopping carts filled with goods.

    A lifelong Islander and Richmond Valley resident, Mr. Fortunato had been dogged by health problems recently, and fell ill after spending an afternoon in his prized vegetable garden Tuesday. The entrepreneur and benefactor died today in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, at the age of 76.

    Biegenwald was convicted of murdering six people, and burying two of the victims in the front yard of his mother's house on Sharrots Road in Charleston. His death sentence was twice overturned on appeal, and he died this March at age 67 in a New Jersey hospital.
