Mr. Rangel paid $3,894 a month for his four apartments in 2007, according to the Times' Web site. Many other community leaders like Tom Travers, president of the local Chamber of Commerce, skillfully added indispensable chords and texture to the developing symphony. Kennedy High School graduate was fouled as he attempted a lay-up during a summer league basketball game, made the short walk from basket to foul line and dropped to the court floor. He died shortly after being rushed to Lincoln Hospital around 4 p.m. The cause of his death is still unknown.
