After winning the approval of the City Council and Board 8, a portion of Terrace View Avenue, between Adrian Avenue and Teunissen Place, will be officially renamed Michael Pichardo Way on June 20. It was once the location of the now-defunct Marble Hill Neighborhood Improvement Corporation, where Mr. Pichardo served as executive director. After his death on June 8, 2001, neighbors launched a drive to get the street renamed in his honor.

An off-duty cop shot and wounded a suspect after the officer and his buddies were beaten outside a Washington Heights nightclub, police said. Two NYPD rookies and a pal had parked their car on W. 164th St. early Friday when a mugger sucker-punched one cop as the trio walked to a nearby nightclub.

Two off-duty rookie cops heading to a Washington Heights club were attacked by a mob of men during a botched robbery attempt yesterday.
