Heidi Betesh, an energetic dance teacher in black spandex and a wispy up-do, led a simple choreography of wiggles, claps and turns for the group of 25 children, most of them autistic. The performers were not at all nervous, but in the audience there was much anxiety. Even as the children danced at the class, held Tuesday in the airy gymnasium of the Samuel Field Young Man/Young Woman Hebrew Association in Little Neck, Queens, parents worried that the city money that supported the class and other programs for their autistic children might not be renewed for the fiscal year beginning July 1.
