Lawrence Malafonte, 46, of the 400 block of Ridgewood Avenue, ran the scam at the Home Depot in Mariners Harbor on Forest Avenue on Wednesday morning, police allege. He also tried to hide other, smaller items between the doors and sneak them out without paying, cops said.
