    Three detectives charged in the November, 2006 shooting death of Sean Bell arrived in court this morning to hear a judge’s verdict in the case, seventeen months to the day after they unleashed a swarm of 50 bullets at the groom-to-be in Jamaica, Queens. The judge’s verdict is expected about 9 a.m. and is sure to set off an outcry no matter what it is.

    Sean Bell’s family had arrived at State Supreme Court in Queens earlier, as about 150 Bell supporters stood outside, some handing out leaflets, sharing the sidewalk with a growing media throng. The Rev. Al Sharpton waited in a nearby restaurant, where he was joined by the slain man’s finance, Nicole Paultre Bell, and her family, before they entered court.

    It's official: The Port Authority and American Stevedoring Inc. have agreed to a $41 million, 10-year lease that will allow the stevedores to continue operating Piers 7 through 10 in Red Hook. The deal means the city's plans to redevelop the piers with housing and restaurants is kaput.

    The few remaining doctors and dentists with offices inside the Williamsburgh Savings Bank tower are claiming poor conditions are causing them to lose 10 percent of their business, according to a long article in The Real Deal about the uptick in shoddy construction lawsuits. When the Dermot Company emptied the 34-story tower of its mostly medical tenants so the building could be converted to condos, now called One Hanson Place, a handful stayed with the promise of new office space in the conversion.

    Looks like work has finally started on Karl Fischer's Hotel Indigo at 237 Duffield Street. Last October, a group of investors called V3 purchased the hotel site for $9.5 million with plans to build a 22-story, 164-room boutique hotel, originally planned to be completed by this year.

    The People's Cathedral of Brooklyn sold off their 15,791-square-foot building on Union, near Grand Army Plaza, according to public records. The deed names the property's buyer as Jacob Pinson, the developer behind the Vermeil condo. Last year the DOB disapproved a filing to enlarge the building and make it residential.
