eeeeeeeeeeeeee A cockroach climbed up on the table while I was eat-ting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when i call the short black girl who have like caw eyes Now,I'm not too finicky and generally have a "don't ask, don't tell" attitude about restaurant cleanliness. If I don't see the roaches I assume they don't exist. I saw a roach on my table. A small one, granted, and only one, ambling up the wall behind me. Not like there were troupes of them doing the cancan on the table or anything, but "don't ask don't tell" was gone. We pointed it out to the server she sames to be the yang owner of the place she call the Spanish guy from the kitchen who squished it without a hint of surprise...she was so proud to say sorry hahahah with out saying a word just went 2 the bar side to pay ,,,to my surprise they change there working dress at the bar,,,

    i don't recommend this place

The owner of this establishment is painfully CHEAP, wiping down his greasy tables with dirty rags. Bizarre, there is nothing cheaper than soap & paper towels. I do love the food here but have been so grossed out by Mr. Kim's behavior that I can't bring myself to walk in.

Reported issues

  • These neighborhood issues were reported at SeeClickFix:

  • 310 Bowery, Manhattan, NY 10012 310 Bowery, no C/O, E.C.B. judge, says cool.

310 Bowery, has never had a Ceritficate of Occupancy, never ever for that address, if anyone walked into the bar and asked for one with that address on it, they can't show one, or even a Place of Assembly permit for the same address. They had a inspection on 12/08/01 and they had no papers to prove that they did, but the Department of Buildings, complaint #1093720 was resolved anyway and so were all of the other complaints, filed over the years and theres many, right up to this year. E.C.B. violation #34828869H brings this to light again and states, remedy : obtain a valid C/O so on 08/26/10 when there was a hearing, E.C.B. judge Mcshane, then dismissed it, does he have to take a drug test, for blowing this one. Let me be the judge for minute, I must have all of my paper work, in front of me to make a correct rualing and then I might ask, the people from 308 - 310 Bowery, to show me the C/O & P/A they have and that would be none. Then I might ask, why don't you have any after all of these years, for me to view, i'm guessing it's because, were a illegal bar and thats why we don't have any, are bad. And then the judge said, okay, dismissed. This judge should not be allowed to judge a B.B.Q. what a smuck.

  • 310 Bowery, Manhattan, NY 10012, USA Remove a fire exit door, who cares.

Will the Department of Buildings, could care less and they have known about this for years. This is about a fire exit door that was on a commom wall in 310 Bowery, that opens into 308 Bowery, each address is a bar, so if the front door in 310 Bowery is somehow blocked, you would use this second means of egress. This fire exit door, opens into 308 Bowery, regardless of who is standing in front of that door in 308 Bowery, no way someone could get hurt or killed by this happening, yeah right. But the people in 310 Bowery made sure that can't happen, they took down the fire exit lights, from above the door and then covered the door over, with a padded wall and sit down bench, hey no fire exit door, no propblem. Well building code # BC 1014.2;27-361 states otherwise, they were told to put the door back to prior working order, did they, not in five years, remember safty first. During those years they got complaints with the Department of Buildings # 1234819 1237707 1247128 1260720 1260806 1274386 1274605 1276513 1276968 1277407 1282689 and everyone one was resolved, can you say corruption, incompetent officials, because at E.C.B. these violations count, # 34829375M 34700582H 34758469H 310 Bowery paid these violations, but never took care of the propblem, these violations with E.C.B. are still listed as, violation active, no compliance recorded, overdue compliance, thats because, they never handed in a Certificate of Correction, meaning we took care of the money, not the propblem. 308 & 310 Bowery got a Vacate Order and was closed down, because of this fire door propblem, but they both got to open again, with the promise, they would take care of this right away, guess what!

  • 310 Bowery, Manhattan, NY 10012, USA Who is to blame

310 Bowery, Manhattan has no Certifificate of Occupancy and no Place of Assembly permit, ever issused for that address. They have had 11 complaints filed just for the C/O & P/A since 01/29/02 and sumhow they all have resolved, could this be a propblem of bribery, corruption, incompetent works, officials and inspectors, who don't know what the hell they are doing. You begin to wonder about these things when complaints numbers 1093720, 1172212, 1234819, 1241844, 1247129, 1247130,1274606, 1274607, 1277409, 1279871, 1282689, have all been resolved, how can this be, when there is no paper work for 310 Bowery, the people at Department Builtings are run by Jerrys kids. Now get this, the people at E.C.B. have active open cases about 310 Bowery, however the people pay off the fines and then are allowed, to stay open, however if you pay the fines, your place can still stay open, you will from hear D.of.B.'s it seems that, if you can pay for a E.C.B, violattion, But unless you bring the proper paper work, to show the work done right, it wll show that the work has been done, however without a Ceriticate of Correction, each of your E.C.B. violations, then become, violation active, overdue complince, no compliance, pending violation, no compliance recorded, such as E.C.B. violations numbered 34516729R, 34817398R, 34765661N, 34709061N, 34533216M, 34828869H, these violations from E.C.B. are the same as the complaints to the Department of Builtings, that got resolved, but with E.C.B. that B.S. won't fly with them. This is why the Department of Buildings, is just a bad joke.

We are having an amazing experience at the school and feel extremely lucky to have found such an incredible public with a strong social studies curriculum. The kids get to do art and science three times a week and a music program once a week. The Tweed Courthouse classrooms are exquisite and HUGE with plenty of space for the small classes. Most impressive is the focus on social and emotional learning with ethics and social/environmental responsibility a major part of the curriculum. The Principal inspires confidence and respect. She has hired an amazing group of people in this incubation period and we are sure that she will continue to bring in more talent as the school grows. It is clear that despite the obvious growing pains, move into the new premises in 2011 and inevitable DOE curveballs, SSS with Nancy Harris at the helm, will come out on top.

Lower rating? Do mean test scores? I know at least one parent who is taking their kids over to PS 40. So I checked that schools rating. Wow, an impressive 9. Should I consider the move also? Well, I looked at PS 19's test scores and their improvement is equally inspiring as PS 40's rating. For example - PS 19's third grade English rose from 60% in 2008 to 88% in 2009. Math: 82% in 2008 to 94% in 2009. All exceed the state average. On reflection, I see no reason to make the switch.

I have two daughters who have graduated from GVMS and a third who will be going in to 7th grade at the new building in the financial district. Over the years, some of the teachers have been spectacular and, unfortunately, some have left...but this happens at any school. The parent coordinator is awesome and Mr. McGuire, the "new principal" is helpful, sympathetic and invested in all the students and the school. While my children have not found the school to be especially challenging and, therefore, had some difficulties in high school, a child who feels this way should speak up early and often and ask for extra work, not wait till after they have graduated. Hoping that more creative classes will be offered in the wonderful, new space!

Stuyvesant HS is one of the best, if not the best, public high schools in New York City. While known for its Math and Science curriculum, Stuyvesant also has excellent English, History, and Arts classes including music, creative writing, and art.

This school seems to have really gone down hill since the old principal left. Lower ratings and a new principal who seems to be overly stressed have me very concerned as I have a child in the 3rd grade. I will be taking out my child as I don't think the environment works anymore. Shame as 19 was a great school with great ratings before.

  • P.S. 234 Independence School (292 Greenwich St) P.S. 234 Independence School reviewed by a parent

PS 234 is an overall average school. There is plenty of hype and an air of "who is better than who phoniness". I had a terrible 2 years with a arrogant, rude biased teacher named Sara Zeroth. She is sarcastic and condescending to parents as well as children. Sara seems to cater to parents who are wealthy and she can benefit from them. Many parents feel this way and were very frustrated with her. Lisa needs to take charge of her teachers and hold them accountable, stop letting them run the school! If the parents are not on the popular list or " in the cliche" no one especially Sara wants to hear their concerns. Homework is a joke and and not at all challenging. The office staff is also rude and they seem bothered by simple questions. This school is overrated and a huge disappointment.

I am graduate of Stuyvesant High School, Class of 1975. It is the finest public academic high school in the United States, specializing in the sciences and mathematics but with a very strong humanities and performing arts curriculum as well. It is also at the forefront of emerging technologies. However, this school is not for every gifted and talented student. The courses are demanding and the work is hard. Unless you live in Lower Manhattan, the commute is quite long. I recommend visiting the school and asking plenty of questions. It may be very possible that Stuyvesant is not the school for you. There is nothing wrong with that. However, if you like what you see and hear, which means speaking and listening, then by all means go for it.

What's not to love? I've got a fourth grader who's been attending PS3 since there was a pre-K at PS3. If you want your creative child to have the freedom to spread his wings, there's room for that at the school and he'll be writing, drawing, singing/playing up a storm. If he needs more structure, you can get that, too, at PS3. Teachers now teach to the ELA et al for several months of the year but that can help any kid smooth out the kinks in grammar and spelling, and the math tests end up being a review for many of the PS3 kids. Additionally, we've seen that they've accommodated the kids who want to learn beyond their grade in math, and chess has taken a bigger role in the 3rd grade curriculum, as more PS3 kids compete at each Council Cup.

It may seem harsh however it is necessary to make not only perspective parents but the entire community aware of the problems that exsist at this school. They lack in so many ways (academics, morals, values), etc, etc. I pulled my child out and I cannot begin to tell you the positive changes. They make you feel as though there is something wrong with you and your child instead of focusing on the real problems: lack of trained teachers; lack of curriculum, lack of support, lack of preparing our children to trust in their education. A great after school program cannot make up for all that is lacking. Special thanks to our Coach as this woman is a Saint and has tried in vain to make up for all that is lost!
